When I arrived in Telluride in 1991, Eddie’s was pretty much a go-to place for lunch or pizza and a beer after work, despite an unpromising location in the back of the Elks Building breezeway. I remember clearly when Eddie Snyder decided to leave town and move his business to Moab for a very simple reason: he could make money in Moab, but not in Telluride, because there were many more visitors in Moab than in Telluride and a much lower cost of doing business, Eddie McStiff’s in Moab is going strong while no restaurant has thrived in Eddie’s old space, possibly proving his point.
