After Maggie and Jack Eagleton bought Gregor’s Baker in 1994, they operated it with a similar menu for a decade or so before relocating to the old Eddie’s space in the old Elk’s Building. One major difference, though, is that baker Jack could never be accused of grouchiness. Sometimes a person really feels like EPT, or eggs, potatoes, toast, but lacks the spirit to make it at home. Better to go where everybody knows your name. The Maggie’s vibe was always old fashioned, “small town cafe.” Good grub but not fancy. There’s nothing like it in town now.
